Sunshine Coast Business Awards launch for 2018 at Small Business Week Breakfast

IT will truly be a breakfast of champions on Wednesday 30 May when the new 2018 Sunshine Coast Business Awards are launched at the Qld Small Business Week event, to feature outstanding award winners from 2017.

Just some of the speakers at the breakfast to be hosted by the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance will include multi-award winner and international TV host and author Kim McCosker of 4 Ingredients, alongside Will Smart of Smartline Machinery, Will Shrapnel of Helimods, Matt Hepburn of Your Mates Brewing Co and Kendall Moreton of Home Care Assistance.

Nominations for the annual Sunshine Coast Business Awards will officially open to celebrate the efforts and achievements of the Coast’s business community.

The region’s most prestigious awards are designed to recognise business success throughout our community who excel in their industry.

Any business throughout the region can enter across 14 industry categories with an online application. The community can also nominate a business to encourage them to enter.

Chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, Jennifer Swaine said the awards are an ideal opportunity to gain local and industry recognition.

“The awards are an outstanding platform for local businesses to shine – there are so many Sunshine Coast success stories that are also competing nationally and internationally and really highlighting how our region is leading for economic development,” she said.

“There is a category for every type of business, regardless of size, and we want to encourage as many businesses to enter as possible.”

Categories range across 14 key industry sectors, a major award for business of the year and the prestigious Hall of Fame, all featuring both small and large business winners.

Applications will open on May 30 for all businesses that have been operating on the Sunshine Coast for 12 months or more. Entry to the awards is free and significant support is provided throughout the Application process.

A Workshop Series will also run throughout the Sunshine Coast in July, encouraging and supporting businesses to enter, and delivering content from key members of the business community. Details and locations of the workshops will be available on the website.

The Sunshine Coast Business Awards have recognised the achievements of the local business community since 1995, making it the longest standing Awards program on the coast.
