Record numbers enter the region’s major business awards
APPLICATIONS for the region’s prestigious Sunshine Coast Business Awards closed yesterday and a record number of local businesses have nominated – the awards have fielded 150% more entries than last year.
The region’s most prestigious awards are designed to recognise business success throughout our community who excel in their industry.
Businesses throughout the region have entered across 15 industry categories via an online portal and the judging process, undertaken voluntarily by industry leaders and past winners, will soon begin.
A major award for business of the year and the prestigious Hall of Fame will also be decided.
Chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, Jennifer Swaine, said it was exciting to see such strong interest in the awards across the region and that a record percentage of those businesses that were nominated, by their customers or, went ahead with the entry process.
“We know that entering your business for an award can be daunting but it’s also an excellent opportunity to reflect and evaluate how you’re performing and what makes your business different, so it is great to see a big increase in the numbers of people willing to put their hand up and be recognised,” she said.
“There are many passionate business owners regionally taking chances, creating opportunities and employing others, and it’s really important that our business community recognises that leadership.”
The Sunshine Coast Business Awards have recognised the achievements of the local business community since 1995, making it the longest standing Awards program on the coast.
