Sunshine Coast Business Awards entry deadline extended

Entrants to the 2021 Sunshine Coast Business Awards will have an extra three days to put the finishing touches on their applications, with the deadline for entries extended to Monday 30th August at 5pm.

Sunshine Coast Business Awards Chair Jennifer Swaine said entries were starting to flow in ahead of the deadline, but many businesspeople had requested the weekend so they could finalise their entries.

“With Covid restrictions affecting many of our entrants, some asked if they could have a little extra time so they could ensure their applications were the best they could be, so we have extended the deadline to accommodate this,” Mrs Swaine said.

Mrs Swaine said given the added complexity of doing business over the past two years, the Awards Committee was even more dedicated to celebrating the success of business in the region this year.

“Past winners and finalists tell us again and again just how much being a part of the Awards had benefited them, both from the publicity created for them, and from the process of application where everyone has a great opportunity to take a virtual step back from the day-to-day operations of their business to reflect on what they have achieved, which often opens future opportunities.

“We pride ourselves on the quality of the Awards applications process – it’s not a popularity contest, but instead entrants are judged according to the criteria, by business experts, with finalists also participating in interviews,” Mrs Swaine said.

“Already over150 businesses had begun the application process with more than 100 attending information sessions to get tips direct from judges.

“If you missed our Information Sessions, you can view the recorded Zoom session on the Information Sessions page of our website – https://sunshinecoastbusinessawards.com.au/information-sessions/ – and there are lots of tips in the application form as you complete it.

Mrs Swaine said it wasn’t too late for new businesses to enter the Awards.

“You don’t have to be nominated to enter, simply jump on the website, register and you can download the application. Then you can work through the questions and upload your application to complete your entry.

Applications now close on Monday 30th August at 5pm.
